The documentary has finally been completed. It took a tremendous effort of one and half years shooting KUSAMA, the artist who never stops advancing in the international art world.The camera records the essence of her art as it wells up in the conflict between life, death and love, sometimes without missing a beat.
This film covers a pivotal moment for KUSAMA , as she tries to complete her series of 50 monochrome drawings in size F100. It is an overwhelming image, showing a bare canvas transforming into a completed work, as captured by a fixed point camera.This has made it possible to witness the world have been waiting for.
It is the first time that we can see the creative activity and the daily life of KUSAMA.Her firm self-confidence makes her say, ”I’m a genius !”Her dignified spirit comes out as she challenges a new work.Her warm face and gestures appear here and there in daily life.The each frame of this film gives you a better picture of KUSAMA’s world and you will never get tired of being part of it.
Watching a film on my art and my pursuit of truth, I cried my heart out.

What a dramatic journey of art it has been.
My long past during which I was in an abyss of despair.
I, who would burn even the sky.
An autobiographical film that exudes life.
Having watched the film featuring my autobiographical images that carry my special feelings, I spent sleepless nights days on end.
Then I thought.
I want to build my life to make it much deeper and higher.
I want to share this aspiration with all the people.
Giving up everything in my heart, I spent the passing days painting a size F100 canvases.
“A body of work” of numbered fifty pieces.
I gave a title, “Love Forever”, to this body of work.
I am full of appreciation to the film crew who recorded my footprints and turned them into a film through so much physical and mental hardship.
This film will certainly continue to touch people’s hearts forever.
So everybody, I am hoping to discover a great life with you, walk with solid footsteps accompanied by life and death, and bury myself in the beauty of this world.
The world of people is wonderful.
And art is filled with great aspirations.

Born in 1929 in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. From a young age, Yayoi Kusama experienced visual and auditory hallucinations, and began creating net and polka-dot pattern pictures.
In 1957, she went to the United States and began making net paintings and soft sculptures, as well as organizing happenings and developing installations that made use of mirrors and lights, establishing herself as an avant-garde artist. Overcoming various obsessions, she discovered an artistic philosophy of self-obliteration via the obsessive repetition and multiplication of single motifs.
After returning to Japan in 1973, she resumed writing fiction and poetry and created outdoor sculptures, large-scale installations, and the “Infinity Mirror Room” series.
She received Japan’s Order of Culture in 2016. Recently, Kusama has held large-scale retrospective exhibitions at various museums throughout the world, including Tate Modern, Centre Pompidou, and M+.
Selected for the 6th Pia Film Festival, which marked the beginning of a career in the world of film and video. Participated in the launch of Japan's first regular fashion program, "Fashion Tsushin," serving as a director. In 1995, met avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama and produced numerous works with her.
